What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consulting Associate, Engineering or Geology (Entry Level) position at ERM Group?
ERM is seeking a hands-on Consulting Associate, Engineering or Geology to join our consulting firm in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting site investigation and remediation projects at industrial projects sites. This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest investigation and remediation technologies, while getting the experience to build a great career as an environmental consulting professional.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct field work, including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling; aquifer testing; drilling oversight and soil logging; soil boring and monitoring well installation and development; vapor intrusion assessments; high resolution site characterizations (e.g., soil gas surveys, membrane interface probe, hydrologic profiler, etc.); and using ERM’s Nexus electronic field data collection digital tool.
- Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory analytical services.
- Provide remedial alternatives evaluation and selection, remedial design, permitting, remediation construction management, and remedial system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring and improvement.
- Assist in data management using EQuIS, data interpretation, conceptual site model development, modeling, and risk assessment.
- Prepare project documents such as work plans, reports, tables, figures, and supporting calculations.
- Focus on team project delivery, working with a project team and taking direction primarily from Task and Project Managers.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
- Assist in maintaining strong health and safety performance and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Communicate with subcontractors, site/facility personnel, client contacts, and regulators during field activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in environmental, civil or chemical engineering; geology; hydrogeology; or related discipline; M.S. preferred. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Or equivalent experience.
- Recent graduate to 2 years of experience, including willingness/interest in field assignments and frequent travel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
- Local candidates preferred but not mandatory.
