What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Peer Support Specialist position at Ernest E. Kennedy Center?
The Ernest E. Kennedy Center, an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility, located in Moncks Corner, SC, is looking for a Peer Support Specialist to join our Adult Services Team. Responsible for providing peer support and recovery resources to clients receiving substance use disorder or Medication Assisted Treatment services. Will provide administrative and clinical support to Mobile Crisis Team supporting the delivery of services and recovery of the client. Assist with managing referrals to agency to include but not limited to: obtaining preliminary information from client and/or referral source; contacting clients prior to appointments to verify date/time, conducting/scoring behavioral health screening, assisting with progress summaries and obtaining information from community partners as permitted by HIPPA/client consent.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least two continuous and current years of sobriety and recovery. Strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, goal oriented, and ability to adhere to principles of a successful recovery is a must. Certified to conduct HIV/Hep C testing preferred.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
