Ernesto’s seeks experienced and outgoing bartenders to join our team. Ernesto’s ever-changing menu pays homage to the Basque region of Spain. We offer an extensive list of Spanish low-intervention and natural wines, specialty cocktails, ciders, vermouths, and beers.
Our bar offers full dinner service and bartenders should balance warmth and gravitas to guide this experience. Potential candidates must be seasoned with expertise in classic and modern cocktails, spirits, sherry, vermouth, and cider. Additionally candidates should possess knife skills and expertise to create fresh, beautiful garnishes. Part and full time positions available.
New York City bartending experience is required.Expected Duties
- Have a strong knowledge of all house cocktails and classic cocktails
- Prepare beverages quickly for bar guests and dining room
- Anticipate guests needs and respond promptly
- Treat everyone respectfully and professionally
- Conduct yourself with integrity and honesty
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar.
- Properly mark all bar guests for each course in advance of delivery of food to the table
- Maintain menu knowledge, review menu items, keep up to date with any changes; have in-depth knowledge of allergens
- Keep management in the loop to any big spenders, great guests, and anyone who you feel needs extra attention
- Ensure accuracy inputting order into POS
- Ensure that all cash is handled correctly
- Close out all cash checks for the floor in a prompt manner
- Complete closing checklist
- Notify management to any pertinent information related to the shift
- Follow all responsible alcohol practices, including carding all guests who appear under the age of 40
- Follow all health department procedures, including best practice notes that can be found behind bar
