Responsibilities

Schedule:Sunday - Saturday, 12 hour shifts (days/nights, 7-7) 

Job Specific Duties:

The type of work may include, but is not limited to, the following: • Provide a full range of EMT services within the MTF and supported geographical area. • Maintain proficiency in the operation of the ambulance radio equipment.• Monitor and operate ambulance radio equipment as required by the circumstances. • Provide the patient with the necessary and appropriate medical care, consistent with ambulance equipment and supplies, and personnel certification, training, and experience during transport.• Control and properly dispose of all medical waste incurred during transport.• Conduct routine restocking, cleaning, and disinfection of the vehicle, equipment, and supplies. Ensure the ambulances are safe to operate, sanitary, and properly functioning.• Document all treatment provided to the patient during the patient transport. • Rapidly stabilizing the patient, according to Advance Life Support (ALS) protocol and EMS written protocols. • Lift, place, and deliver patients to the receiving destinations for medical care. Place patients on monitors, administer needles, IVs, oxygen, or dressings. Carry patient records or baggage/belongings to the destination for patient care. Redress patient’s wounds. In addition to pre hospital duties, the contractor shall provide patient care such as conduct patient registration, triage and screening in the assigned medical facility emergency room in accordance with emergency room protocols and within the scope of Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic and Lead Paramedic Program Manager training and experience. They shall also assist in cleaning all rooms, storing equipment, and assisting nurses and physicians in care of patient as delegated. 

• Ensure KACH contract paramedics possess current, up-to-date licensure, trainings and certifications in accordance with 5.2.6.2 and exhibit 5.

• Comply with schedule managment, to include fielding any callouts, finding replacements and coordinate with the on-site supervisors for coverage in accordance with the schedule requirements. Ensures completion of contractor HCW’s DMHRSi in accordance with government suspense dates.

• Complete peer review Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) of all Paramedic patient care records generated by EMS personnel due on the 10th of every month for the previous month of evaluation

• Oversee and ensure compliance with continuing educational needs of the paramedics.

• The Lead Paramedic Program Manager shall work on-site no less than 3 (three) 12-hour shift per week and and is expected to complete the majority of these duties during the shift work. Hours are subject to change based off of mission requirement/patient demands.

• Provides feedback, recommendations and coordination with ED Leadership and external stakeholders regrading EMS base plan, MASCAL response coordination, as well as any other pre-hospital responses.

• Assists ED Leadership with instructing and accomplishing annual training requirements of all contracted HCWs to include but not limited to in-services, call audit sessions and annual competencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited NREMT program. License/Certification and Training: Possess and maintain certification as an NREMT, NRAEMT, NRP from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or applicable state EMT certification. BLS/ACLS/PALS required Experience: One year of experience as an EMT, NREMT, NRAEMT or NRP after graduation. Security:  Must be a US Citizen and must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
