Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As an Aerial Lineman, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
- Safely use hand tools and equipment, including wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, and climbing hooks
- Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks and digger derricks
- Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and safety barriers
- Flag traffic when required
- Understand separation and clearance regulations
- Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be authorized to work in the United States for Kanaan Communications, LLC
- Pass a DOT physical exam and hold a valid medical card
- Hold a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
- Have knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
- Be able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
- Be able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
- Be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Be able to work over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
- Be able to maintain a safe work environment
- Be able to work in all weather conditions
- Be able to travel when travel is required
- May have experience splicing of active & passive equipment
