Waste Water Technician
Job Scope:
Responsibilities:
- The operation of a 24/7, 1 MGD physical/chemical wastewater plant. This will include calibrating pH probes, monitoring trends/flows, supervising the filling of bulk chemical tanks, troubleshooting equipment issues and assisting with required reporting.
- Supporting the manufacturing area through maintaining the Ultra-Pure Water system. This will include calibrating equipment, monitoring trends/data, filling/swapping chemical totes, trouble shooting equipment issues and assisting with required reporting.
- Maintaining equipment in your operating area and escalating critical issues up to maintenance and/or supervisor.
- Assisting in the storage and disposal of site generated waste.
- Help to coordinate vendors, OEM and others to perform routine PM’s.
- Take part in continuous improvement efforts/projects
- Able to work independently and maintain logs of operating parameters for equipment under his/her control
- Other responsibilities as assigned by EHS Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Possess a Class C Physical/Chemical Wastewater License, Class B preferred. - LICENSE CAN BE OBTAINED WHILE EMPLOYED
- Hands-on skill set in mechanical, electrical, pumps, troubleshooting, and repair especially in a wastewater environment
- Prior work in an Industrial wastewater facility
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess the ability to handle difficult situations and work well in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to stand and walk up to 75% of the shift.
· Able to wear required PPE as departmental policies or job tasks dictate.
· Must be able to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs., up to 10% of the work time.
· Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts – either 7am – 7pm or 7pm to 7am
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
