Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for overseeing all HR functions and operations within the organization. This strategic leadership role involves developing and executing HR strategies that support the company’s overall business goals and promote a positive and productive workplace culture. The Director of HR will lead a team of HR professionals, manage the employee lifecycle, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational performance, talent acquisition, and workforce planning.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR matters, including conflict resolution, employee development, and performance management.
Talent Management:
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to ensure the organization attracts top talent.
- Lead initiatives for employee development, training programs, and succession planning.
- Develop and manage employee retention strategies to maintain a highly engaged workforce.
Performance Management:
- Implement and oversee performance appraisal systems and processes.
- Ensure performance management aligns with company goals, offering guidance to managers on providing feedback and setting objectives.
- Address performance issues and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Oversee the administration of competitive salary structures, benefits programs, and incentive plans.
- Ensure that compensation and benefits offerings are aligned with industry standards and are attractive to current and potential employees.
- Monitor compliance with applicable wage laws and labor regulations.
Compliance & Employee Relations:
- Ensure HR policies and practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Manage employee relations, resolving conflicts and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
- Stay updated on labor laws and HR best practices to maintain a fair and equitable workplace.
Culture & Engagement:
- Champion company culture and employee engagement initiatives that promote a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Lead efforts to create a positive, productive work environment that fosters collaboration, respect, and growth.
- Conduct employee surveys and focus groups to gather feedback on workplace issues and address areas for improvement.
HR Operations & Technology:
- Oversee the implementation and management of HRIS systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Lead HR administration and ensure smooth operations, including payroll processing, benefits administration, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate employee records and confidential information.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar HR certifications preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and align HR practices with business objectives.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, MS Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, exempt position.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Must be available to work extended hours as needed, particularly during peak times such as performance reviews or organizational changes.
