Job Description:
Reporting to the Plant Controller in Hanover, PA, the Plant Accountant is responsible for providing objective and comprehensive analytical support by forecasting, consolidating, coordinating variance analysis, and performing special project work to support the objectives and initiatives of the company
Primary Duties
Perform month end closing tasks to include reviewing and/or preparing and entering journal entries, reviewing variances and analyzing root cause, requesting data from other individuals for use in posting of entries, etc.
- Ensure daily, weekly, month-end and year-end close processes are performed, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Ensuring that the general ledger is closed within the timelines of the Company's closing schedule.
- Prepare and send to all levels of management daily/weekly/monthly reports and be able to respond to questions requiring explanations for respective sites.
- Work with all other functional area managers to meet their needs for financial data requests.
- Complete monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as assigned.
- Work with both internal and external audits to provide reports and explanations in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of financial plans and budgets.
- Ensure the data accuracy and integrity for the data sets.
- Develop new methods of reviewing data to help drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Knowledge of Fixed Assets Administration (CIP follow up, FA Cycle counts, Capitalizations, Disposals, Transfers).
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, production output, and labor productivity.
- Assist with part number creation and calculating standard cost.
- Other duties assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years’ experience and bachelor’s degree in accounting, including a broad knowledge of GAAP accounting, auditing, financial analysis, and Sarbanes-Oxley strongly preferred but not required.
- Manufacturing experience.
- JDE and SAP are at least one of the two systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and hands on experience in continuous improvement concepts.
- Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office software applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information/documents
- Advanced communication skills, including active listening and ability to facilitate meetings in a cross functional team environment.
- Advanced problem solving and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple assignments with advanced follow-up skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position at least 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ‘PPE’ when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
Pay Range:
$74,788.00-$87,007.00Salary : $74,788 - $87,007
