Role Summary:
MBTA is separating ServiceNow from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and implementing it as a standalone platform. We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to assist with this transition, clean up legacy work, and optimize the platform moving forward. The developer will work in a 2-person team within an Agile environment and contribute to process improvement, development, and strategic roadmap planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement custom solutions on the ServiceNow platform using modules like Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Catalog.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to define technical solutions.
- Design and maintain workflows, catalog items, and custom applications.
- Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems via REST, SOAP, etc.
- Support training, process optimization, and reporting initiatives.
- Perform platform cleanup post-DOT separation and support roadmap development.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and security in line with ServiceNow best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within ServiceNow apps and integrations.
- Maintain and upgrade test, dev, and sandbox environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
- Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and releases.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 years of hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform.
- Strong experience with ITSM and IT Business Management.
- Proficiency in designing and managing workflows and Service Catalog items.
- Experience in platform optimization and technical roadmap planning.
- Exposure to CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and sprint-based development.
- Experience working in test, dev, and sandbox environments.
