Description: As a Custodian/Janitor, you will be essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our facilities. Reporting to the Fulfillment Center Director, your core responsibilities will include performing janitorial tasks, floor care, and commercial cleaning. Your custodial and janitorial experience will ensure high standards of cleanliness, while your mechanical knowledge and carpentry skills will aid in basic maintenance tasks. Additionally, your relevant experience in industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance will contribute to the overall efficiency and upkeep of our premises. Important Qualifications:
- Must pass a background check and have a clean criminal record.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and provide Valid I-9 Documents.
- Must be fluent in English.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clean offices daily or as needed, including vacuuming carpets, emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, sills and blinds.
- Clean restrooms daily or as needed to maintain proper appearance, including floors, sinks, toilets, urinals, trash and supply restocking.
- Clean the lunchroom daily or as needed to maintain proper appearance, including floors, sinks, counter tops, appliances and trash.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning, bathroom and lunchroom supplies and communicate to management when needed.
- Empty all trash cans in the warehouse daily.
- Dust mop and general floor cleaning of warehouse, rotating through warehouse sections so our footprint is completed weekly.
- Assist with basic maintenance and repairs on building, such as replace light bulbs and HVAC air filters, as well as simple electrical, plumbing and equipment repairs.
- Assist with snow and ice removal at entry door to the warehouse.
- Ensure good communication with employees, management vendors and delivery drivers.
- Daily operation of driven floor cleaning machine.
- Must be adaptable to changing priorities and varied responsibilities.
- Willingness to do duties assigned by your supervisor or management personnel.
- It is mandatory that all employees obey safety rules and to exercise caution in all their activities.
Education & Experience:
- Custodial and janitorial experience required.
- Simple maintenance, mechanical and carpentry skills required.
- Basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs preferred.
Time Requirements:
- Monday through Friday 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
- Full-time 40 hour week based on business needs.
- For individuals interested in overtime, extra hours may be provided in our Shipping Department during the Spring and Christmas seasons. This is an option and not a requirement.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 40 pounds).
- Must be able to work in the following environments: dust, heat, coolness and high humidity.
