Description: The middle school physical education teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of exercise and a healthy body. The physical education teacher instructs and develops students within physical education, health, rhythm/dance and individual and team sports.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Teaching licensure for the State of Ohio or the ability to obtain substitute licensure for the State of Ohio
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
· Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, dances, and fundamentals of body movement.
· Develops lesson plans to guide instruction and student outcomes
· Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.
· Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of students.
· Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps appropriate records to include attendance and assignment/assessment grades
· Communicates with parents on student progress.
· Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the assigned working day.
· Instructs students in social emotional learning through an advisory class daily
Salary: $170 per day
Reports To: Dr. Marc Sterner-M.S. Principal
