What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Assistant position at ESC of Lake Erie West?
Position Summary
The Technology Assistant provides technology support for administrators, professional staff, support staff, and ESC clients to ensure the efficient operation of the ESC/client network(s), ESC/client technology equipment, and other ESC/client technology applications (e.g. website, data systems).
Qualifications
•Associate Degree in the field of computer science or the equivalent
•Experience in technology support and network administration
•Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows operating systems
Duties/Responsibilities
•Assist with the management of district network, servers, and all related systems and equipment (e.g. Active Directory, Exchange, network switches and copiers)
•Manage network protocols including the filtering system
•Communicate operational aspects of the network to users
•Direct and manage the hardware and software troubleshooting process (i.e., break-fix) including the technology help desk
•Provide technical support to conference center users
•Assist with the maintenance of the asset management system (inventory, obsolete items, software site licenses, etc.)
•Assist with recommendation for new hardware and software
•Coordinate the installation and set up of new hardware and software
•Maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting of ESC technology, equipment, systems, and networks; maintain program records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or board policy
•Assist with the timely submission of report, records, and inventories; Maintains program records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or board policy
•Assist in maintaining and improving the ESC website
•Assist in the implementation of the ESC Technology Plan
•Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information
•Network with other technology professionals and agencies
•Seek opportunities to improve skills and grow professionally; attend all required meetings and in-services to keep abreast of current and future developments in technology.
