What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of State and Federal Programs position at ESC Region 8?
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5yrs. Experience, Master’s Degree Preferred
- Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate
- Recommended by the Executive Director
- Experience in campus (P and/or AP) and/or district leadership role
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable.
Center Responsibilites:
- Process all personal timekeeping, travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position.
- Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
- Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
- Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
- Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures

Position Responsilbilites:
- Coordinate and deliver effective training and technical assistance needed for programs or projects
- Attend trainings approved or assigned by department director to increase knowledge or improve job performance
- Assist in monitoring State and Federal grant activities to ensure compliance
- Assist districts with state initiatives/funding opportunities
- Assist campus improvement teams with planning/implementation strategies to increase student performance
- Provide training and technical assistance to districts in the allowable use of funds
- Provide technical assistance to the LEAs that are selected by TEA for program validations
- Provide technical assistance to districts in meeting Paraprofessional HQ requirements
- Provide technical assistance on Private non-Profit school participation
- Provide consultation to member districts in completion and submission of the ESSA Consolidated Grant Application and Amendments
- Provide training and technical assistance to non-member districts on ESSA Consolidated Grant Application and Compliance Reports
- Provide technical assistance to districts on Gun-Free Schools reports
- Ensure grant compliance ESSA grants
- Work collaboratively with ESC staff to provide consistent leadership supports
- Provide on-site visits to LEAs as needed
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Special Assignments:
- Train with other departments as assigned
- Mentor new specialists/consultants
- Assist in monitoring internal department processes such as travel, time and effort and budget documentation
- Assist in all areas necessary to lead the SF department
- Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.
Terms of Employment:
Up to 226 working days
This is an at-will employment position.
In the event of an economic slump, a reduction-in-force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing.

Grant Cycle End Date: August 31st, 2025
Grand-funded positions may not exist past the end date.
