The Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio  is seeking interested and qualified candidates for a full time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Itinerant position serving students throughout the northeast Ohio school region who are D/HH for the 2025-2026 school year.

Candidates must possess ODE TOD/HH appropriate licensure, background check and experience delivering direct instruction to students and technical assistance/consulting to school personnel regarding students with deafness or hard of hearing. 

Flexible work schedule and reliable transportation is needed.

A competitive salary and fringe benefit compensation package will be offered.

Essential Functions: (to include but not limited to)
1. Maintains a thorough understanding of subject matter.  Organizes and develops appropriate subject content and learning goals.  Develops lesson plans that align with state standards/extended standards and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) objectives.
2. Evaluates the academic needs of students.  Develops effective student educational experiences that engage and stimulate student learning.  Varies instructional techniques to address diverse student learning styles.
3. Provides sign language development / auditory skill development, readiness skills, daily living skills, concept development related to the impairment, etc
4. Teaches self advocacy skills that help students manage the learning environment.
5. Communicates expectations, provides guidance, and shows an active interest in student progress.  Helps parents/students understand program objectives and performance standards.
6. Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to collect data, manage/plan for student learning and monitor progress.
7. Evaluates student achievement/performance.  Prepares progress reports. Submits in accordance with district timeline.
8. Serves as a resource to classroom teachers serving deaf/hard of hearing students.  Helps staff resolve problems that impede student participation in appropriate learning activities/environments.
9. Maintains complete and accurate student and ESC records.  Submits required paperwork on time.
10. Has and maintains knowledge of technology related to hearing loss including amplication, CI, FM systems, close captioning, videophones, i-print/i-cart, and other technology as appropriate.
