What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Specialist-Food and Nutrition position at ESC2?
The Education Specialist-Food and Nutrition will provide staff development and coordinated technical assistance to local Contracting Entities that include local education agencies (LEAs), private schools, Residential Child Care Institutions (RCCIs), and Child and Adult Care Programs (CACFP) in the operation and administration of their food service programs.
Education Qualifications:
1. Bachelor ́s Degree from an accredited college or university with major in Institutional Management, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science,Education, or related field (required)
2. Minimum 5 years applicable food service administrative experience
1. Minimum of three years administrative, supervisory, or consultative experience in institutional or commercial food service with preference to school food service experience.
Special Knowledge and Skills
1. Ability to plan, implement, and follow up on staff development and provide coordinated assistance in the assigned area
2. Experience teaching adults
3. Culinary experience
4. Experience with the use of nutritional analysis software
5. Experience in the use of technology
6. General knowledge of child nutrition
7. Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
8. Knowledge of federal and state guidelines and laws pertaining to grant administration
