Position Summary Description
This is the Lead People position for the company. A strong candidate will have solid Generalist background with a commitment to being a Business Partner to the Senior Leaders of the organization including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Owners. Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility includes continuing to build out the HCM platform and lead the People function for the company.
- Serve as a Business Partner to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Owners.
- Ensure that the People practices not only comply with legal requirements but also strengthen the company’s culture and enhance the working experience of team members.
- Lead the strategy and implementation of best People practices in the areas of:
- Talent Acquisition – with a focus on Club General Manager positions.
- Learning and Development
- Succession Planning
- Compensation
- Coaching, Counseling and Conflict Resolution
- Labor Law compliance
- Regularly provide consultation and People guidance to the Operational Leadership Team (General Managers and VP level Executives).
- Regularly interact and provide People guidance to Office Managers in the field as they are the People contact at each location for our team members.
- Partner with General Managers to ensure compliance with state and local regulations as the company has clubs and resorts in seventeen states in the continental US.
- Has an unwavering commitment to perform all duties in a REMARKABLE way.
- Follow through with any other reasonable request from leadership.
Qualifications
- A caring leader that can easily connect with team members at all levels of the organization.
- A very knowledgeable professional in the areas of: Talent Acquisition, Benefits Administration, Compensation Practices, Labor Law, Learning and Development, Workers’ Compensation and Company Culture enhancement.
- A person with a “hands-on” approach that can ensure compliance and implementation of best practices.
- Ability to work in a synergistic way with external partners such as benefit providers and brokers.
- Work collaboratively at all levels of the organization, including Home Office staff as well as the General Managers and leadership teams at each location.
- Able to exercise independent judgement and work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
- A Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field is strongly preferred. Graduate education and/or professional certifications are a plus.
- Solid working knowledge of Dayforce or a similar HCM platform.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer knowledge for other applications such as Zoom.
- Experience or a very solid understanding of the hospitality and service industry. The successful candidate will likely have five or more years of experience at the Director-level position.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, including a strong preference for a person bilingual in Spanish.
- While the work schedule is mostly Mon-Fri 9-5, the person must have the flexibility for occasional work on evenings or weekends if needed for special events or projects.
- Travel is generally not required for the position, but the person must be able to do occasional travel if needed.
Job Type
Salaried, exempt.
Pay
Escalante offers a competitive pay package with a combination of base salary and incentive ranging from $150,000 to $175,000.

PTO and a generous holiday pay benefit are also included.
Schedule
Office hours are Mon-Fri 9:00-5:00. The successful candidate agrees the position requires availability for call and email consultations during off hours, weekends and holidays if the business need arises.
Working arrangements are in-office.
Travel is estimated at less than 25%.
