POWER SYSTEMS ENGINEER
The Power Systems Engineer will be vital in designing, building, and maintaining the electrical systems that power automated machines and systems in a manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities :
Substation and transformer engineering to enhance power efficiency and reliability. Focused on high voltage to medium voltage.
Conduct load calculations for 480VAC systems to ensure proper power distribution
Apply a basic understanding of Arc Flash ratings and calculations to maintain safety standards
Create wiring diagrams, circuit breaker configuration recommendations, and other essential electrical components
Provide Allen Bradley basic control systems hardware architecture knowledge for obsolescence upgrades
Modify existing AutoCAD prints and create new designs as required
Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings
Technical Skills :
Expertise and experience to effectively collaborate with project engineering teams, ensuring the substation load balance requirements are continuously monitored and adjusted to align with evolving needs
Proficient understanding of automation principles, including machine control, sensor technology, and data acquisition
Skilled in using Allen Bradley PLC Controls Systems and AutoCAD software
Additional Valuable Skills :
Knowledge of network topologies, including VLANs, firewalls, and servers
Understanding of network protocols such as EtherNet / IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH , and RIO
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years’ experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design, and / or control systems
Ability to perform daily work tasks on-site
Ability to travel in the assigned territory and occasionally travel to attend company, customer, and supplier activities and events
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
