Purpose of Role: The Manufacturing manager is an integral member of the leadership team with Plant 3. This role leads, coordinates, and oversees the operation of the Molding and Melting departments, and is accountability for safety, quality, productivity, equipment, training, production targets, cost, and the overall culture and morale of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates a plan for safety improvements, building a culture of safety; coach and model safe behaviors, respect for environment, and 6S behaviors.
  • Actively participates in development of team members through regular check in’s, development plans, training plans, and involving team in CI and Safety kaizen.
  • Creates and sustains strategy for process adherence and improvement by strictly following the principles and guidance of Weir Process Management.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts through A3 thinking, PDCA problem solving, 6S, Process Management and other lean tools.
  • Lead team with strategic vision for manufacturing operations; initiate plans and processes that minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Achieve business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and assist with and advance Weir quality systems, procedures, and practices.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Education: Preferred Bachelor’s degree, but will consider 5 years manufacturing experience as a supervisor
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing is a must.
  • At least 5 years experience leadership in a manufacturing environment. Foundry exposure is a plus.
  • Day shift, but the ability to work flexible hours as business needs require
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Kronos, and OSI pi is a plus.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States
