ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR INTERN
Division: ESCO Electric
Location: Marion, Iowa
Reports to: Account Manager
Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Status: Full-Time, Part-Time
Typical Working Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm
May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.
Synopsis:
The Electrical Estimator is an administrative position within the project management structure of ESCO Electric. This position is best described as a task level contributing resource for internal and external customer project delivery. Work executed will be for a multi-discipline electrical team. This position requires the acquisition of knowledge related to electrical estimation.
Background and Work Experience:
To be considered, candidates should have:
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and enrolled in an accredited college or university
· Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations.
· Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred:
· Experience in a construction environment.
· Mechanical and spatial aptitude.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
· Executes administrative task-based estimation duties under close supervision.
· Review blueprints and conduct electrical estimate takeoffs including pipe, wire, and lights.
· Assist with preparing client bid pre-qualification packages, submittals, estimates, and proposals including the compilation of all relevant documents and materials to accompany them.
· Measure and calculate project elements.
· Communicate with vendors on pricing.
· Gather and deliver operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals to owners at project completion.
· Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
· Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Travel Required:
This position does not generally require overnight travel. Some daily travel may be required to other office locations, training, and seminars.
