Safety Manager

 

Role Summary:

The Safety Manager position is to provide support to the ESCO Group Safety Department. To help lead and maintain a high value of safety in the workplace. The primary role for this position will be to provide safety support for our ESCO Electric Business Unit with crossover into the ESCO Automation Business Unit. This position will report and support the ESCO Group Safety Director.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

·         Manages and implements the ESCO Group safety program throughout the company.

·         Schedules and provide necessary safety training for all new employees.

·         Coordinates, collaborates, and schedules necessary safety training for all existing employees.

·         Show leadership skills and quality in the role of Safety Manager.

·         As a leader, consistently communicating with other leadership roles on ESCO Group job sites.

·         Meet with clients and their safety representatives.

·         Helps maintain and coordinate job site inspections.

·         Audit, verify and possibly conduct weekly safety meetings.

·         Monitor and help coordinate proper test intervals for various equipment.

·         Maintains the chemical inventory records for the Hazardous Communication Program.

·         Helps coordinate and manage employee drug screenings.

·         Accurately and confidentially maintains ESCO Group records and other sensitive employee data.

·         Maintains compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

·         Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

·         Follows all guidelines, polices, and procedures established by ESCO Group.

·         Complete annual continuing educations courses as required.

·         Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO Group’s standards and best practices.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·         Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner.

·         Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

·         Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·         Willingness to take on and complete multiple project assignments quickly and efficiently.

·         Develops meaningful relationships and trust with employees and clients.

·         Adapts behavior to changing circumstances.

·         Work produced demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Ability to build relations and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

·         Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement correct measures.

·         Proficient in the following safety standards:

·     Subpart C (General Health and Safety)

·     Personal Protective Equipment

·     Fall Protection

·     Equipment Inspection/Assured Grounding

·     Hazardous Communication/Right-to-know

·     Lockout/Tagout

·     Mobile Elevated Work Platform

·     Forklift/Rough Terrain Forklift

·     Confined Space Entry/Procedures

·      NFPA 70E

 

Education:

·         Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety/Health or related field.

·         2 year degree with electrical experience/background and 3 years of construction experience.

·         5-10 years of electrical experience/background with related construction experience.

·         OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 or related background.

·         In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.

 

Required:

·         Must be willing to travel away from home ~1 month total per year

·         Willingness to travel on short notice

·         Valid and unrestricted drivers license

 

Salary:

$60,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience
