Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate Shipping Operations:
- Oversee the entire shipping process, from order placement to final delivery, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
- Liaise with carriers and internal departments to schedule and track shipments.
- Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists and customs forms, in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of goods to prevent damage or loss during transportation.
2. Monitor Shipment Progress:
- Track shipments and maintain accurate records of shipping activities, including shipment status, delivery dates, and any delays or issues encountered.
- Communicate shipment updates to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, ensuring all parties are informed about the progress of their orders.
- Proactively identify and resolve any shipping-related problems or discrepancies to minimize delays and ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Optimize Supply Chain Efficiency:
- Identify opportunities to streamline shipping processes and reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
- Continuously evaluate carrier performance and help negotiate favorable rates and service agreements to optimize logistics operations.
4. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests related to shipping.
- Ensure customers receive accurate and timely information regarding their orders, including tracking details and delivery schedules.
- Handle customer complaints or issues related to shipping, working closely with relevant departments to find swift resolutions.
5. Compliance and Documentation:
- Stay updated on shipping regulations, trade compliance, and customs requirements to ensure adherence to legal and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping records, including bills of lading, shipping logs, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and other authorities to facilitate smooth customs clearance for international shipments.
Requirements:
- Proficient in using shipping software, inventory management systems, or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving shipping-related issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
