What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geotechnical Drill Assistant Helper position at ESE?
Earth Science Engineering, LLC (ESE) is a Clarksville based geotechnical engineering and construction inspections/testing firm seeking Drill Assistants. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
The Drill Assistant works closely with the Driller and Drill Manager as part of our drilling team. Our company performs subsurface explorations at various sites in Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky and other areas where the work takes us. As a Drill Assistant, you will be utilizing drilling techniques that include hollow stem augering and diamond bit rock coring. Your duties will include handling augers and other tooling, sampling soils and rock, maintaining field logs during the drilling process, and other related duties in our day to day drilling operations. Also, you will assist the Driller with maintenance of ESE's drills, trucks, and other related equipment. Work for this position is generally performed outdoors, requires some out of town travel (less than 15% - lodging and per diem provided), may include long days to get the job done, and limited work on weekends.
No experience required - ESE will train and teach you on the job!
Starting pay: $18.00 per hour.
Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License and clean MVR acceptable to ESE insurance company. You will drive a company vehicle to and from project sites.
- Effective communication skills: speaking, reading, and writing English.
- In good overall physical health with ability to routinely lift 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
