We are seeking an experienced Data & Research Scientist with a strong background in data science, research, and analytics to join our team, focusing on Cadillac's Global Strategy & Operations. This role will drive innovation and analytics to support global strategy, research, and operations initiatives, with a core emphasis on data storytelling, statistical analysis, and KPI optimization. Ideal candidates are strategic thinkers with excellent technical and communication skills who are excited by the opportunity to leverage data insights to support key decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in either Michigan or Texas (Austin preferred) to support cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Science and Analytics: Lead advanced data analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, and visualization to address large-scale vehicle and business-related challenges.
- Automation Development: Design and develop automation tools for efficient data processing and reduction.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with business leads to translate data insights into actionable strategies, driving improved business outcomes.
- Mentorship and Skill Development: Mentor junior team members to strengthen their analytical and technical skills, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Research and Technology Integration: Continuously explore and apply emerging technologies and statistical methods to stay at the forefront of data science within the automotive sector.
- Data Collection and Refinement: Lead initiatives to acquire and refine datasets, ensuring quality and relevance for ongoing and future research projects.
- Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and communicate best practices for research methodologies and instrumentation.
- Real-Time Data Processing: Create analytics solutions to support real-time data processing in big data contexts.
- Data Storytelling: Use a structured approach to present data insights, combining visuals and narratives to drive and influence business change.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, research, analytics, or related fields within large, complex data environments. Auto industry experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in R or Python (mandatory)
- Strong statistical, analytical, and math skills
- Experience with big data technologies, preferably on the Databricks platform
- Educational Background: Master's degree in a STEM field required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Curiosity and creativity in solving complex problems
- Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Industry Knowledge: Automotive industry experience
- Technology Proficiency: Hands-on experience in data architecture and database management
- Software and Tools: Experience with CATIA V5, JIRA, and additional project management tools
- Certifications: PMP certification or equivalent project management certification
