What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Eskimo Hut?
General Purpose of Position:
Reports to: Vice President
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing all inventory functions and responsibilities for wholesale and distribution, including, but not limited to, sales and purchase orders, invoices, receiving orders, inventory tracking, confirming picked orders, shipping and logistics, and monthly inventory. The Inventory Control Specialist is also responsible for overseeing business responsibilities, including, but not limited to, price book management, reporting through QuickBooks Financial and Square POS, advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook), and assisting the VP with administrative tasks.
Position is part-time Monday – Friday from 8am - 4pm. Often, the employee can leave around 3pm if orders have been fulfilled and shipped and daily responsibilities are complete.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PROCESS RESPONSIBILITIES
(Other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and physical assessment
- Perform work tasks in a safe manner in accordance with work instructions
- Completes work assignments in a timely manner and/or uses time in an efficient & productive manner in support of facility goals for on-time release of orders
- Operates equipment per SOP to prevent equipment & facility damage
- Takes actions to ensure that work environment is clean and well maintained
- Receives orders from stores, facilitates sales orders and invoices, creates purchase orders, and fulfills backorders
- Never out of stock or finding substitution items, i.e. ordering all products
- Researching and finding best deals on inventory items as needed
- Utilizing Microsoft Office Programs including, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Weekly inventory counts to determine if ordering product or adjusting Reorder Points is needed
- Create and maintain relationships with logistics companies to find best deals on shipping to stores and shipping from manufacturers
- Maintain warehouse and storage cleanliness and supplies, i.e., tape, wrap, fuel for forklift
- Maintain filing system for all orders, sales orders, invoices, shipping info, etc.
- Maintain inventory control through cycle counts
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Able to provide proof of identification and employment eligibility
- Valid Driver’s License and Insurance
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook
- Basic Math Skills ( , -, *, /)
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Great attention to detail
- Good organization skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision

Due to the nature of the job responsibilities, it is imperative that you know Excel well enough to write basic formulas, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and IF equations. QuickBooks can be taught on the job, however, basic inventory control and Excel equations must be known. Do you have those skills?
