This position is remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.
Pay:
Starting Pay: $137,500 Pay Range: $108,684 - $153,457
Purpose:
The Lead Financial Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive, integrated, multigenerational wealth management strategic plans for clients, deliver same to client with advisor. This position oversees financial planning for the entire ISLLC group, collaborates on planning for the Trust Services Team clients, reviews plans, provides training and guidance to team on complex strategies. Duties include providing sophisticated estate and personal financial planning technical support, interviewing with clients and financial consultant/wealth manager to validate client’s assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives and appropriately complete or oversee plan. This individual will act as senior expert in understanding and communicating complex topics such as Social Security, Income Tax, Retirement Planning and IRA rules, Estate Planning and Trusts. The position is an active participant in the New Account Acceptance Committee (NAAC), Trust Administrative Committee (TAC) for ESL Trust Services, and the Advanced Planning Group (APG) for all of wealth management.
Accountabilities:
Expert Resource for Financial Planning
- Analyzes Client’s financial status, develops financial plan based on analysis of data and client’s goals, discuss financial options with client in conjunction with assigned advisor
- Work Effectively with all wealth team members and act as financial planning resource for ESL
Participate in Client and team meeting(s)
- Meet with client’s to present plan, collaborate with respective advisor to complete plan implementation strategies.
- Meet with prospects and clients that request financial only, develop plan for a fee.
- Maintain contact with advisors to revise client plans based on modified needs of client or changes in investment market
Supervision of Planning Activity
- Supervise plans prepared by FC/WM for accuracy and make recommendations.
- Provide education on complex topics to entire wealth team during monthly meetings
- Provide specific training on software tool used for financial planning (basic, intermediate, advanced)
Participation in select committee meetings
- Participate in NAAC and TAC meetings by exhibiting a depth of knowledge of trust and estate agreements, governing documents and account agreements. Able to show extensive knowledge of fiduciary duties and applicable laws, including trust and tax law, estate planning techniques. Must have knowledge to provide fiduciary oversight of such documents.
- Participate in Advance Planning Group, consists of all businesses in wealth management, to assist in analyzing complex, high net worth cases and help determine appropriate platform to ensure excellent client experience.
Create and Deliver Educational Presentations
- Create and deliver training for both employees and client/prospects.
- This job entails professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders, and as such needs to have the ability to breakdown complex issues and relay the information in layman terms.
- Must be comfortable in front of groups to provide training and education in meetings and external seminars.
- Create seminar and training materials as subject matter expert.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of directly related industry experience
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) required
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor required, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hiring
