Job Title : Fabrication Shop Floater 1 FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Department : Fabrication Shop
Reports To : ESL Fabrication Shop Supervisor
SUMMARY
Assist in the day to day operations in a shop setting using various fabrication equipment such as shears, spot welders, grinding equipment and welding to fabricate enclosures and sub-assemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- General sheet metal construction tasks such as cutting and grinding.
- Use small hand tools, measuring tools, drill, and grind and cut sheet metal.
- Load, start, and stop the shear and several other machines in the fabrication shop
- Tends power shear that cuts metal objects, such as sheets, plates, billets or bars, to specified length.
- Lifts work piece manually onto machine bed table and operate forklift to move materials.
- Positions work piece against side guides and end stops or aligns layout lines under shear blade.
- Starts machine that clamps work piece and lowers blade to cut metal. May verify size of sheared items, using tape measurer, caliper, or template
- Pull sub-assemblies and stage them accordantly
- Sustains 5S in workstations.
- Practices ESL’s core values on a daily basis
- Abide by all rules and regulations as set forth in your employee handbook.
- Use lean practices and processes to keep department efficient
- Perform other duties / tasks as assigned.
- Follow safety procedures and wear required proper protective equipment
