Located in Stafford Virginia, the Rouse Center (JRSSC) is a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot facility that houses a 50-meter competition pool with movable bulkhead and seating for over 800 spectators, a 25-yard recreation pool, a warm-water wellness pool, a group exercise studio, fitness floor, a full-size basketball court, and a full-service cafe to serve guests.
The Rouse Center offers cycling, a variety of group exercise classes, swimming lessons, and lifeguarding.
The center offers league play for adults in volleyball, basketball, Lil Kickers soccer for children 18 months- 9 years, summer camps, clinics, classes, a J-Club kids area for all those active kids ages 10 weeks -12 years old.
The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
ESMs management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
The Rouse Center is currently looking for a Lifeguard.
The Lifeguard maintains a safe swim environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool as well as preventing and responding to all emergenciesin the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center.
Lifeguards will report directly to theAssistantAquaticsDirectorand Aquatics Director.
Scan surveillance areas to ensure the safety of all patronsAct in emergency situations and provide appropriate careCautionswimmers regarding unsafe areasRescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administerfirst aidwhen neededMaintain order in swimming areasAbleto successfully perform the Lifeguard pretest once every 6 months to maintain employmentHelp maintain a clean pool environmentConduct chemical checks on scheduled basisFill out any necessary reports for accidents or incidentsAbletowork in a wet pool environmentMay handle chemicals, under supervision, if older than 18 years of agePossess strong customer service skillsAbleto multi-task and be well organizedAbleto work in team environmentAbleto communicate effectively with others, verbally and in writingParticipate in In-Service TrainingsPerform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Assistant Aquatics Director, Aquatics Director and / or the General Manager
