We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by accurately estimating costs and ensuring that projects remain within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, effective negotiation skills, and proficiency in various estimating software tools.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze blueprints and other project documents to determine project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Utilize HeavyBid and Bluebeam software for efficient project estimation and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for accurate cost assessments.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure cost control.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction / Landscaping estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing plans and specifications.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and negotiate contracts.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
