Description:
The UX Designer will be responsible for creating a positive and productive end user experience for TEA applications and websites and for maintaining a user-centric focus throughout product development.
TEA is seeking a senior UX and Product Design lead to help create solutions that improve education technology integration and enable parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders to focus on what is most important -- their students. The UX and Product Design Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of technology solutions by maintaining a strong user-centric focus and driving alignment with existing work in the field. They will work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and use strong independent judgment.
UX Designers responsible for:
OverseeeingUX/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices
Translating research into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap
Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meets the needs of the end users, in collaboration with partners
Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership, on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers, developers, and product managers
Required Skills:
12 Years of Experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI or a related field
Designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
8 Years of A portfolio of user research, visual design, and usability studies that demonstrates a high level of professionalism
8 Years of Experience conducting user and usability research
8 Years of Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
5 Years of Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
5 Years of Direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts
5 Years of Documented experience developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
3 Years of Experience ensuring designs and website confirm to federal accessibility guidelines
Preferred Skills:
3 Years of Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"
2 Years of Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
