SUMMARY
As a Project Manager for Utilities at Ditesco, you will design and manage the construction of utility and telecommunications/broadband infrastructure projects across the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned. Duties are varied in nature and include:
- Responsible for management of design and construction tasks such as data collection, report dissemination, plan and specification production, quality control, bidding and construction administration for outside plant fiber design and telecommunications initiatives.
- Manage relationships with clients, industry and trade partners.
- Directly responsible for internal and external job cost analysis on project budgets.
- Perform project schedule analysis.
- Responsible for contract administration of various project types (GMP, Unit Price, Cost Plus, etc.).
- Develop and manage risk registers for engineering and construction management projects.
- Responsible for all oversight of construction inspection efforts; for engineering design and construction management services.
- Proven capability to draft technical reports, present, and speak in public.
- Prepare for and manage weekly project progress meetings.
- Work at local and remote jobsites, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado licensure required, or ability to obtain in 6 months.
- 8 years of experience in engineering and construction, with an emphasis on project/construction management, including utility infrastructure, telecommunications, outside plant fiber design and construction, and/or instrumentation and controls.
- Proven knowledge of program management principles, financing, permitting, and overall project development.
- Ability to ensure compliance with, and follow, standard safety practices and procedures common to construction work.
- Ability to compile engineering data and statistics; evaluate and generate reports.
- Ability to prepare budgets, and proposals, and manage job costs.
- Experience preparing engineering cost estimates for design and construction.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, clients, and the public.
- Ability to supervise assigned staff, mentor, and manage career growth.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and/or Microstation; ArcGIS; Microsoft Project scheduling or similar software.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to communicate with clients and the public and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate with contractors and people in the construction trades to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts in resolving construction-related issues. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or clients.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical concepts necessary to perform structural, highway geometry, and hydraulic calculations at a professional engineering level. Ability to develop, analyze and manipulate financial plans, forecasts and budgets.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Travel Requirements
May be required to travel to projects greater than 50 miles from the main office location. May be required to perform work at remote job sites for varying lengths of time.
