What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior LiDAR Technician position at ESP Associates?
ESP Associates has an immediate need for a Senior LiDAR Technician to join the corporate office in Fort Mill, SC (South Charlotte). This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain experience supporting a well-established Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.
Responsibilities:
- Develop automated classification strategies that effectively reduce manual editing time lidar
- Test processes, software, and emerging technologies to introduce efficiencies and expand technical services for lidar and lidar-derived products
- Production of aerial lidar point cloud deliverables and derivative products, as well quality control of lidar pre- and post-processing steps.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with TerraSolid software related to lidar processing such as TerraScan, TerraMatch, and TerraBatch for manned flight lidar
- Experience with the following software, sensor types, and/or project types a plus:
- Lidar from other sources such as mobile, UAS, and terrestrial sensors
- Transportation, utility, USGS, or large area lidar projects
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcMap.
- Must be goal-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Must be willing to work over-time as required to meet deadlines
- Ability to work closely with peers and managers to achieve established goals
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment with time limitations
- Applicants are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team environment.
- Must be available/willing to cross-train in other disciplines (i.e., photogrammetry).
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
