ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional with a passion for Water Resources to join a well-established team!
Responsibilities:
- Typical projects include a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping and flood mitigation studies, flood warning, municipal stormwater, risk and hazard analysis, GIS data capture and analysis, and similar projects for a variety of public and private clients.
- Managing priorities of junior-level staff to meet project schedules and providing training for various tasks.
- Delivering quality products through senior review of work performed by junior staff.
- Developing and reviewing workflow procedures and clearly communicating project targets to production teams.
- Communicating with clients to provide project updates and coordinate additional work opportunities.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina, or ability to obtain NC PE within 3 months
- 5 years of experience in water resources / stormwater work
- Knowledge of and experience with FEMA Flood Insurance Study updates
- Experience in performing surface water analysis using HEC Suite
- Experience performing spatial analysis and mapping with ESRI GIS software
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred:
- Experience with 2D modeling and/or closed-system modeling (SWMM)
- Experience with programming (Python, Java Script, and VB), database management
- Experience with 2D modeling and/or closed-system modeling (SWMM)
- Knowledge of stormwater management and water quality modeling
- Experience in preparation of construction documents
- Drainage design for transportation projects such as roads and bridges, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, riverine and urban systems, regional drainage studies, and FEMA LOMCs
- Roadway and street design for City and local municipalities.
- Development of preliminary plans through final construction plans and specifications in accordance with DOT and local municipalities standards
- Design of highway storm drainage systems
- Experience in MicroStation and/or Open Roads Designer (ORD) tools and PS&E packages.
- Experience in performing analyses using hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models such as Geopak Drainage, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, PondPack, Win TR-55, and HEC-HMS.
