About the Role:

As a Survey Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and directing tasks and resources for successful project completion.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Manage and coordinate surveying procedures and processes, including survey team members and survey subcontractors to ensure projects are surveyed correctly in order to meet or exceed project requirements
• Understand and support Pickett’s safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
• Prepare and maintain project progress and status reports, letters, files and other documentation related to projects
• Monitor projects while interfacing with clients on technical matters
• Schedule and order survey materials and/or equipment to ensure project timelines are met
• Analyze and interpret technical information and/or property descriptions for surveying or related operations
• Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to specific projects
• Help maintain sketches, maps, reports, legal descriptions and surveys
• Interpret survey field notes to prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, right-of-way control surveys and other survey related documents
• Process and verify the accuracy and sufficiency of data collected from the field
• Assist VP of Surveying with business development, client management and preparation of proposals
• Utilize Civil3D, Trimble Business Center and other industry related software as needed to complete projects
• Conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles; routes; construction layouts; as-built/as-surveyed locations

 What You Bring:

• BS degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or equivalent work experience in survey or heavy civil environment (required)
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor &/or Professional Surveyor & Mapper (preferred)
• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in responsible charge of all aspects of surveying and mapping (required)
• Ability to work in a safe manner and obey safety regulations at all times
• A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider is a condition of initial and continued employment (required)
• Strong familiarity with project management methods and strategies
• Experience with practical survey and pipeline construction methods, including survey control, boundary recovery, topographic and hazard survey, construction staking, field design and as-built methodologies
• Solid working knowledge of current survey equipment and software technologies, including but not limited to Trimble and Civil3D
• Skilled in running and adjusting various survey instruments including GPS equipment, levels, and robotic total stations with electronic data capabilities
• Proficient in technical math, including Geometry and Trigonometry
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Trimble business center, GIS and GPS
• Working knowledge of survey and mapping principles, practices, standards, procedures and project management
• Practical knowledge of state land survey requirements and client standards
• Must be highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a timely basis
• Must be able to work as an individual contributor and within a team environment
• Ability to travel as needed
