What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Coordinator position at ESP Associates?
ESP Associates is seeking an individual for a Utility Coordinator position to support our managers in various utility coordination projects throughout Fort Mill and Charleston, SC. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing design plans identifying potential utility conflicts in state, local and municipal transportation design and/or construction projects.
- Investigating and resolving utility conflicts per client guidelines.
- Develop and maintain utility conflict matrixes through project completion.
- Drafting utility relocation plans using CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD).
- Gathering project utility data for writing utility reports.
- Interface with multiple utilities, engineers, designers, municipalities and DOT’s.
- Assist in the utility coordination process from design through construction.
- Utility coordination support for multiple SC and NC projects statewide.
- Travel for meetings and utility coordination tasks.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of related experience (utilities, engineering, SUE, locating and/or surveying).
- Excellent verbal, written and organization skills.
- Familiar with roadway & bridge design and/or construction projects.
- Drafting using CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD).
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize competing demands due to multiple projects.
- Proficient in MicroSoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Powerpoint.
- Experience with North Carolina and/or South Carolina utility coordination projects preferred.
- Must have the ability to travel when needed.
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
