Overview
Esparza Enterprises Inc is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join one of our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in occupational health and safety practices, as well as experience in training development and root cause analysis. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor workers' compensation claims and collaborate with management to ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, trends, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and workers' compensation laws.
- Excellent skills in report writing and documentation of safety processes.
- Experience in training development and delivery for diverse audiences.
- Ability to conduct effective root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective measures.
- Familiarity with EHS software tools is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels regarding safety initiatives.
- Must have a driver license and clean driving record.
- Must be bilingual/Spanish (ready, write, and speak)
- Experience in EHS in agricultural farming, food processing, or a related field is required.
- Must be able to work different shifts and travel to various locations.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
