Esperanza Academy Charter School seeks a dedicated and dynamic Math Specialist. As a Math Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students’ academic journeys by designing rigorous and engaging math interventions aligned with Pennsylvania Core Standards. You will also collaborate with teachers and administrators to foster a culture of numeracy across the school, ensuring every student builds a strong foundation in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach high-quality, evidence-based math interventions using diagnostic instructional techniques in individual and small group settings.
- Align instruction with the PA Core Standards and use evidence-based practices that promote student math success across content areas.
- Support classroom teachers in differentiating and enriching math instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with Reading and Math Curriculum Specialists to strengthen content knowledge and instructional best practices.
- Provide professional development opportunities and coaching for teachers to enhance math instruction across the curriculum.
- Develop and implement individualized reading plans tailored to student needs, including number sense, operations, problem-solving, and foundational math skills.
- Analyze student data to track progress, make instructional decisions, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Complete progress monitoring for all students receiving reading support using the Panorama platform.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, families, and students regarding student progress through dialogue and written reports.
- Plan and develop special math projects and support school-wide numeracy and fluency initiatives as approved.
- Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and resources for corrective measures and instructional support.
- Support all school assessments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:

- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Official transcripts showing the degree conferred are required before the starting date of employment.)
- A Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education, Elementary Education with a Math focus, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Certification: The ideal candidate holds PA Elementary Education Certification (Grades K–4 or K–6) before their start date or is willing to obtain certification.
- Clearances: All applicants must have current FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks conducted within the last 12 months.
- Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.
