Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Gurnee area
Job Type and Duration: Contract to Hire (approximately 6 months)
Pay rate: commensurate with experience
Company is a leading AISC certified manufacturing company specializing in structural steel fabrication. We are searching for a skilled, experienced CNC machine operator to join our shop fabrication team.
Seeking a detail-oriented, high energy CNC machine operator who has recent experience operating steel fabrication equipment - large bandsaw, high speed drill, angle cutting, and/or plasma cutting machines.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and an understanding of CNC equipment software and operations. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a small team depending on the current workload.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate CNC machine(s) according to established process and technical specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning; make necessary adjustments
Inspect finished products for quality assurance
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Adhere to all safety guidelines and program requirements
Perform and/or assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Technical certification and/or formal trade school training in machining is preferred
2 years of experience operating CNC equipment
Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, nesting, and machine operations
Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
