Design Engineer - Transportation Engineer - Civil Engineer

Client is seeking a well-rounded, versatile, candidate to join us in a Transportation Engineering position. The successful candidate will work on all phases and aspects of transportation projects and will be utilized in various capacities, depending on the project. A candidate with roadway design experience for clients including IDOT, Illinois Tollway, as well as various counties and municipalities is desired. Experience with Class I freight and passenger railroads is a plus.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Roadway geometrics design
Utility and drainage design
Hydraulic modeling and analysis
Maintenance of traffic design
Traffic analysis and traffic signal design
Public involvement coordination
Phase I / II design tasks for IDOT, Illinois Tollway, County, Metra and Municipal clients
Client interaction and professional networking
Mentor and instruct junior technical staff
Collaborate and assist senior level staff
Playing an integral role in a rapidly growing consulting firm
Assist in other non-engineering aspects of a growing business, as necessary
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Proficiency with MicroStation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Minimum 5 years of roadway engineering experience with transportation related projects
Must be able to collaborate and work remotely with colleagues
Ability to work overtime hours when necessary to adhere to project demands and to be productive when working remotely
Familiarity with Illinois Tollway and IDOT engineering design standards
