Heavy Equipment Operator (Utilities)

Summary:

Esposito Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator with field experience for various job sites across the state. Specifically we are looking for team members in North NJ. Candidates must have experience running loaders, dozers, excavators and various other machines. Candidates must also have knowledge of site work, earth moving, and utilities installation. Experience with pipe and/or utility work is a plus. We are seeking someone who is motivated, hands-on, self-starter with a proven track record.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and trenchers to perform site grading, excavation, and trenching for underground utilities.
• Safely and efficiently maneuver machinery to excavate and backfill trenches, ensuring proper depth and alignment according to project plans and specifications.
• Install underground utilities such as water lines, sewer pipes, and drainage systems, while adhering to established standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and fellow crew members to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and address any mechanical issues promptly.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment usage, materials used, and project progress
  

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in team setting
• Pipe experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to excavation and trenching operations.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment, specifically for site work and underground utilities.
• OSHA 10 and/or 30 Preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for long periods while operating machinery.
• Capable of getting in and out of the machine multiple times throughout the day.
• Comfortable climbing up and down steps or ladders of the equipment.
• Physically capable to work on your feet and lift/move material productively
  
• Ability to withstand exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, and precipitation.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks consistently throughout the day.
• The job may require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• May involve exposure to loud noise, vibrations, and dust.
