Principal Secretary
An ESS Principal Secretary will assist the functioning the daily school setting, providing excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be a team player, able to adjust quickly in change with positive attitude, that can handle multiple tasks at one time.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Open, read and route all mail; answer telephone and screen, refer, record and follow through on
- messages; maintain files of correspondence and records.
- Set a positive tone for pupils, parents and visitors; assists students, parents and visitors entering
- the office area.
- Maintains employee’s attendance information, time entry and pay records.
- Type correspondence, reports, purchase orders and other materials; proofread typed materials
- for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation word usage and to avoid typographical errors.
- Utilize technological resources to facilitate workload and enhance office operation; assist in
- updating office procedures.
- Monitors emergency communication system.
- Utilizes student information system to access information as needed.
- Maintains calendar, schedules appointments and meetings for Principal; maintains schedule of
- local school meetings open to the public to include maintaining an updated listing of who to
- contact in case of emergencies in the schools, etc.
- Operates various office machines including a computer.
- Assists with student registration as needed.
- Promotes positive relationships with local school personnel, central office staff members,
- parents and the general public by assisting whenever possible.
- Assists with backup bookkeeping responsibilities as assigned.
- Manages data entry and coordination of employee leave requests, ensuring accurate
- record-keeping and efficient scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
