We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our team at Essayon Construction Group, a leading turnkey wood framing specialty contractor. The APM will support the successful execution of multifamily, student housing, affordable housing, and mixed-use development projects in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. This position involves managing materials, labor, equipment, and on-site supervision to deliver high-quality wood framing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of wood framing projects.
- Act as a liaison between field teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and workflow.
- Track project schedules and budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Material and Equipment Management:
- Coordinate procurement, delivery, and inventory of materials (lumber, trusses, hardware) and equipment (lull, cranes).
- Ensure timely availability of resources to prevent project delays.
- Labor Oversight:
- Support field supervision and labor crews to maintain production quality and safety standards.
- Assist with scheduling labor resources, including framing, building wrap, and window installation crews.
- Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Conduct routine site visits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to address any on-site challenges or deficiencies promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and performance metrics.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Assist in fostering and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Address client concerns and facilitate solutions to maintain satisfaction and trust.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience with wood framing and turnkey construction solutions is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Builder trend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of construction codes, safety standards, and best practices.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites within GA, SC, NC, and TN as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multifamily, student housing, affordable housing, or mixed-use developments.
- Familiarity with managing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors in a wood framing context.
