Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments of patients with cardiovascular concerns.
- Perform triage duties to prioritize patient care based on urgency and clinical need.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and medical history.
- Provide education to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Assist in catheter care procedures and monitor patients post-procedure for complications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the healthcare setting, including teaching hospitals, to enhance patient care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiology practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification with a specialization in cardiology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to cardiovascular health.
- Experience in outpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical nursing principles and practices.
- Previous experience in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
