Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Echocardiographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and providing diagnostic evaluations to assist in the assessment of cardiac conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiology, physiology, and sonography techniques to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The Echocardiographer will work in a fast-paced environment, potentially within a Level II Trauma Center, collaborating closely with physicians and other medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms on patients to assess cardiac function and structure.
- Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and interpret ultrasound images.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and develop patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the lab environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in echocardiography techniques and technology.
- Assist in training new staff or students in echocardiographic procedures as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of care.
Skills
- Proficient in sonography techniques specific to cardiology.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and telemetry monitoring.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols related to cardiac care.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively within a lab setting.
- Excellent understanding of physiology as it pertains to cardiovascular health.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a clinical environment.
- Previous experience or certification in echocardiography is preferred but not required.
