Essence Preparatory Public School, a growing K-8 public charter school in San Antonio, Texas, invites passionate and revolutionary educators to apply to the Classroom Teacher position.

- Intellectually prepare to execute lesson plans and differentiate daily to ensure 100% of students reach and exceed their year-long academic goals
- Use data-informed practices to drive instruction and ensure all academic gaps are closed for all students
- Support of the professional habit growth of all scholars, including organization, time management, and communication
- Execution of all classroom systems supporting Essence Prep VITALS, RISE core values, and Restorative Practices Behavior Response System
- Provide consistent and clear high academic and classroom community expectations through Responsive Classroom Practices
- Collaboration and co-planning with grade team teachers and special education teachers to plan lessons, asses students, and interpret academic data
- Participation and engagement in weekly individual coaching meetings, weekly Professional Development, Summer Orientation, and Monthly Staff Book-Clubs
- Assist with operational support of various school systems to ensure the efficiency of scholar arrival, dismissal, transitions, and other needs
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
- Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student’s progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update the grade book weekly
- Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work-related tasks.
- Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns with campus-wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
- Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
- Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions
- Engage in summer and year-long district, school, and personal learning and development
- Minimum of 40 hours spent at school per week to include evening and weekend hours as needed or assigned
- Volunteer for student recruitment events
- Other duties as assigned
You have
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- A Texas Teaching Certificate); preferred
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Experience working with school-aged children

Salary : $62,000 - $68,000
