Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Casual employee, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a healthy difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and report tests of all complexity levels on patients of all ages.
- Participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Exhibit Problem Solving Skills.
- Specimen Processing and Phlebotomy.
Education Qualifications:
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or meets CLIA guidelines for alternative route.
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS): Four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or MLT (ASCP) certified with additional semester hours.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
MLT: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) within one year from hire date.
MLS: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), within one year from hire date.
Work Schedule:
Casual position with varied hours, including day, evening, and night shifts.
Varying shift start and end times, weekends, and holidays.
