What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - (Registered Nurse) position at Essential Senior Health and Living?
Starting pay for nursing as follows:
CNA - 18.00 - 23.00 per hour
LPN - 32.00 - 37.00 per hour
RN - 37.00 - 42.00 per hour
**Weekend Option additional 5.00-7.00 per hour

The RN will:
1. Provide technical nursing care as defind by licensure as defined in the Indiana State Nurse Practice Act.
2. Verify staffing upon arrival.
3. Daily walk through to check residents condition. Verify CNA assignments, room cleanliness, and call lights answered in a timely manner.
4. Monitor meals-hall trays delivered on time. Main dining room runs effectively and everyone has recieved a tray.
5. Review 24-hour report sheet for changes in resident status or MD orders to make sure new orders have been transcribed correctly.
6. Monitor: Cath bag and tubing placement, PICC line dressings, IV's, Communication book,/24 hour report shifts to shift and new orders. Update care plan as needed.
7. Will meet with DON/ADON as needed during the day to keep her updated on things happening on the units.
8. Monitor labs and books, PT/INRS and book, BM charting and CNA charting.
9. Audit the BPs, Wts, Meds and documentation for PRNs, and follow up done).
10. Check behavior for intervention r/t ani-psychotopic med use.
11. Check for medications not recieed or not availabe. Get them delivered ASAP from pharmacy.
12. Update CNA care guide as needed.
13. Check med carts for open dates and expiration dated on medications (i.e., bottles, eye GTTS, Inhalers, insulins, over the counter meds labeled correctly).
14. Check treatment carts for supplies and expired treatment supplies.
15. Audits: alarm list, thicken liquid list, oxygen list, and nursing report sheets.
16. Assist with admissions and dishcarges as needed.
17. Check med rooms: straighten, send back medications to GVP, destroy outdated meds (refrig and cabinets). Make sure EDK and IV boxes are sealed and replaced after opening. Make sure refrigerator is defrosted as per schedule.
18. Destroy meds/narcs as needed.
19. Monthly pharmacy recommendations for nursing and MDs.
20. Do rounds with MD when on the unit as needed.
21. Attend: therapy/Medicare meetings, care plan meetings for unit residents.
22. Oversee new nursing staff orientation as needed.
23. May be assigned to work on the floor.
24. Attend IDT Meetings
25. Other job dutiews as assigned.
The Charge Nurse and Care Plan Coordinator must have:
A current license to practice in the state of Indiana as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
Knowledge of medications, drug doses, side effects and desired outcomes
Long Term Care experience preferred
Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 30 pounds
Computer knowledge is preferred
