The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join our product team and lead engineering efforts to build interfaces and APIs to enable powerful interactions with large language models. You will work with a team of engineers and researchers to design and implement key components of our product and platform.
This role will focus on the backend platform while working directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and design and implement solutions. As a Senior Engineer on the founding Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and innovating on the robust and scalable backend infrastructure that powers our products. You will also build and deploy our solution into our customer’s environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our business needs and delight our customers.
What you’ll be working on
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design and implement core infrastructure and systems powered by foundation models for workflows in enterprises.
- Explore, iterate, and build useful and elegant products that bring to life model capabilities through usable interfaces.
- Be deeply engaged with our customers to understand their requirements and iterate quickly with them to customize our product to their needs.
- Have a chance to guide and impact new kinds of software-enabled by LLMs to improve valuable enterprise workflows.
- Deploy and scale AI-powered products from the ground up while defining standards and protocols for monitoring, evaluation, security considerations, etc.

The base pay range target for the role seniority described in this job description is up to $225,000 in San Francisco, CA. Final offer amounts depend on various job-related factors, including where you place on our internal performance ladders, which is based on factors including past work experience, relevant education, and performance on our interviews and our benchmarks against market compensation data. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits like daily onsite lunches and snacks; some of these benefits may be available for part-time or temporary positions.
