The Site Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the manufacturing and distribution center facilities operations, including production, maintenance, safety, quality assurance, supply chain, and human resources. This role is essential in driving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The Site Director reports to the Regional Vice President, Customer Supply Chain and works closely with cross-functional departments to achieve business objectives.
Typical Accountabilities :
Operations Management :
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing and distribution center facilities to meet production goals, customer demand, and quality standards
- Ensure optimal performance by managing production schedules, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation
- Oversee inventory control, raw materials, and supply chain processes to optimize efficiency
- Lead Sustainability goals for Plant / DC
Strategic Leadership :
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate objectivesDrive initiatives for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction programsSet performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, quality, safety, and financial performanceSafety and Compliance :
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, fostering a culture of workplace safetyImplement risk management and emergency response protocolsConduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirementsQuality Assurance :
Ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards and customer specificationsWork closely with the Quality Assurance department to implement corrective actions and process improvementsDrive root cause analysis and resolution of product defects or operational issuesFinancial Management :
Manage the sites operating budget, focusing on cost control, margin improvement, and resource efficiencyMonitor key financial metrics such as operating expenses, capital expenditures, and ROI on new investmentsSupport profitability goals through cost-saving initiatives and productivity enhancementsTeam Leadership and Development :
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, and engagementImplement workforce planning strategies, including talent acquisition, retention, and succession planningEncourage employee training and development programs to enhance skills and productivityStakeholder Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact between corporate headquarters and the facilityBuild and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and the local communityCollaborate with the corporate leadership team to ensure alignment with broader business strategiesRequired qualifications / skills / experience :
Degree in Business / Engineering / Related Field; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMasters or MBA preferredProgressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with proven experience in a senior leadership roleStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles and continuous improvement methodologiesProven leadership ability in managing large teams and complex operationsExcellent financial acumen, with experience in budget management and cost controlAbility to work under pressure, solve complex problems, and make critical decisionsStrong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsWhat we offer :
