Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Taking patient medical histories and recording details in electronic health records.
- Measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and performing EKG’s.
- Preparing exam rooms and patients for physician examinations.
- Assisting with minor procedures as directed by the physician.
- Providing patient education and instructions on medication usage.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing appointment calendars.
- Verifying insurance information and handling billing procedures.
- Maintaining patient records and updating medical information.
- Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries.
- Ordering medical supplies and maintaining inventory.
- Following up on open patient balances.
How you will thrive as a Medical Assistant:
In addition to competitive salary and free parking; we have Friday's off! We work from Monday-Thursday in the office 35-40 hours per week.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a certified medical assistant program
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, basic computer skills
- Clinical Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff
- Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, ability to build rapport with patients
- Organizational Skills: Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience in specific medical field preferred, but not necessary
