This position is fully onsite at our Ocala, FL office location.
Job Summary
The Investor Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing functions which include Investor Reporting, Account Reconciliation, Servicing Accounting functions, and oversight of the investor accounting vendor.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Process cash and non-cash transactions in the loan servicing accounting applications.
- Support testing efforts for all system-related updates.
- Strictly adheres to the Agency and Private Investor Servicing Agreements, Regulation AB, USAP and other guidelines for timely and accurate reporting, remitting and reconciling.
- With vendor assistance, prepares remittances to investors along with related cash management functions.
- Performs reconciliations of accounts for either Agency, Private Securities, or Clearing Accounts.
- Oversight of daily cash management including the accurate and timely processing of all wires and cash movements ensuring all activity is in compliance with corporate investor policies and requirements.
- Work with the appropriate departments to facilitate a smooth and timely response to all audit requests.
- Timely and accurately prepares and delivers investor reporting for Agency or Private Investors.
- Assist with creating or updating departmental procedures.
- Responsible for updating "How To" procedures and creating "How To" job aid procedures for areas of knowledge
- Clears reconciling items within 90 days from the point of identification or earlier based on investor guidelines, either through internal wires, escalations or investor adjustments.
- Complete all compliance training in a timely manner
- Prepares wires and GL entries as needed to remit or clear aged items timely and accurately.
- Performs detailed loan level analysis of loan exceptions, using Excel and various workflow and servicing systems.
- Perform duties necessary to complete the team’s daily, monthly and yearly assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and/or Skills
- Two years applicable mortgage servicing or accounting experience preferred
- Ability to build rapport quickly to convert inquiries into proper transfers to departments/agents for resolution
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage time
- Ability to communicate effectively – both in written and verbal form
- Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems
- Bachelor’s or relevant experience in the field.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic.
- Ability to remain professional even under strenuous situations.
- Be able to take ownership of an issue.
Computer and Equipment Skills
- Intermediate in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Word processing (speed and accuracy)
- MSP or FICS’ Mortgage Servicer a plus
- Internet software
- Use typical office equipment (computers, fax, phones, copiers, scanners, projectors, etc.)
Physical Requirement:
- Vision (with or without correction) sufficient to read a computer screen and to operate office equipment
- Clear speaking voice on the telephone, in person, and recorded
- Hearing within normal ranges in noise environments typical of office
- Able to sit for long periods of time at computer or other work-station and in meetings
- Able to use computers and operate equipment
- Able to lift 10 pounds occasionally unassisted
